Their secondary objective is to provide a gateway into AA for the alcoholic who still suffers. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or feed for AA membership, we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. They are not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses or opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting thorugh its own voluntary contributions. The Al-Anon and Alateen has been one purpose: to help families and friends of alcoholics.
